Who says that the frosting on the cake is only meant for humans? Dogs love celebrations too, and there is nothing more they love then getting the muzzle into a nice topping of frosting! Dog birthday parties are especially fun when there are young kids in the house. The special day only comes along once a year, and is the special occasion where you can show Fido how much you love him by giving them some dog birthday cakes!
Although dogs can eat nearly everything that humans do, caution must be taken when making the birthday cake as one important ingredient should not be included- chocolate. Chocolate is toxic to dogs and therefore should not be fed to them.
Some great ideas for frosting on the cake are yogurt, cream cheese, peanut better and cottage cheese. Dog birthday cakes can be made out of carob if you are really hoping for a chocolate cake at the celebration. Carrot cakes are also a great choice.
Dogs should not be allowed to gorge on the cake. They don’t need much, just a couple of bits, so don’t slice a huge piece of cake for them.
